Hajra Mansoor passed from Govt. College of Art and Craft Lakhnow in 1964. Along with Rabia Zuberi she organized Karachi School of Art in Karachi and researched in creative synthesis of painting and entered in the evolution of periodical phases in life time work. Her evolutionary periodic are Academic Realism, Classism, Oriental Intuitionism, Oriental formalism and Neo Romantism. She exhibited her solo shows every year from 1963 to 2008 in Pakistan and abroad including Bangladesh, India, China, Japan, Turkey, Iran, France, England, Germany, Hong Kong, Tokyo and America.
She was awarded “Chughtai Award” sponsored by Pakistan National council of Arts in 1996. In the year 2009 she was awarded “Pride of Performance” by the President of Pakistan in recognition of her meritorious services towards the development of art in Pakistan. In addition to the above she has been declared “Safeer-e-Mashriq” of Pakistan.
Recently, she was honoured with Life Time Achievement Award at the 2nd International Watercolour Biennale organized by the International Watercolour Society in collaboration with Centre of Excellence in Art & Design, MUET, Jamshoro. Karachi School of Art organised a lunch in honour of Hajra Mansoor’s recent award attended by many prominent artists including Ghalib Baqar, Riffat Alvi, Maher Afroz, Tariq Jawed, Abdul Hayee and many more.
