Romila Kareem

Romila Kareem obtained her BFA from National College of Arts, Lahore, Pakistan [1989-93].She was credited with Awarded Sir Percy Brown Award in Art History from National College of Arts, Lahore and awarded Distinction in Thesis Project, ”Between Human and Nature” in 1993. She was awarded First Prize (Print category) by NHI in First National Art Competition, Islamabad 1995.

Throughout her art education from 1991 to 1993, she received Merit Scholarship from National College of Arts, Lahore Pakistan.

After her graduation, Kareem became Fine Art Faculty Member, Indus Valley School of Arts, KHI (Full Time) 1993-1999 at the same time she was a visiting faculty at Karachi School of Art 1993-96. She remained art consultant, proportions [architecture and interior design] from 1993 to 2002. Circumstances took her to Canada and she became an instructor, Art and Craft, Reading Programme, Toronto Public Library, Canada 2002-2003.

She rejoined Karachi School of Art as a visiting faculty in 2003 for one year. Kareem took up Landscape and Interior Designing with KT & Associates, KHI from 2007 until today. She became Coordinator Academics/Head of Printmaking Dept. at Karachi School of Art, KHI from 2009 to date. Recently, she has also obtained her MA in Art Education from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan [2015-2017]
